Bruce Holland Rogers

The Bruce Holland Rogers workshop starts tonight. It’s a two day workshop entitled “Writing Even Though You Have a Life,” and I am interested to see how hands-on it will be. I hope to pick up some insights on how to keep motivated and get right into the meat of the work when I am short on writing time.

Final Concert

Tonight I attended Keith’s final orchestra concert for the year. He played well, particularly on the “Pink Panther” theme, but his teacher forgot to award him his red medal for an Excellent performance at the state solo competition. This is not exactly a creative activity, but it is an appreciation of a creative activity.

Mountain Down Time

Didn’t do anything creative per se, but I did go to Rocky Mountain National Park with the family, and that’s always refreshing. (I’m noticing that I’m using sentence fragments in this Creativity Journal. I need to get out of that habit.) I did read some of James P. Hogan’s The Legend that was Earth.

ZZ Van Leppard

Played guitar. Worked on “Finish What You Started,” “My Head’s in Mississippi” and “Too Late for Love.”

Poor Planning

Went to the Mercury Cafe after work to watch a poetry slam, only to find that the slams are on Sunday. I should have checked it out better first. Went home and practiced guitar: “Closer to Fine,” “Too Late for Love,” and “Ode to Billy Joe.”
